About Us |
Capitol Adventure is the creation of two Sacramento-Area outdoor enthusiasts who realized that Northern California, and specifically the Sacramento area, was lacking in outdoor sporting events like long-distance open-water swims, family events and adventure races. The two founders put their personal and professional experience together to organize races and events in and around Sacramento to fill this void. |

Dr. Todd Drybread: |
completing his Doctorate in Chiropractic, Todd spent most of his life working as a lifeguard, EMT, and nurse. For the last few years, he has competed in as many triathlon events as he can fit into his training schedule, including the Folsom International, the Treasure Island, the Escape from Alcatraz, Auburn Triathlon and the Wildflower. Todd also enjoys cycling, hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, waterskiing, and rock climbing. Look for Todd cycling along Salmon Falls Road on Saturdays. |
Felix Poggemann: |
His credentials include 11 years of competitive swimming with USA Swimming, the University of Chicago, and US Masters Swimming. He also enjoys spending time with his family, baseball, whitewater rafting, waterskiing, and cycling. Sometimes, when Folsom Lake has enough water, you can find him enjoying an open water swim along Folsom Point. Felix is easy to spot at any event – he’s usually the only one wearing a Chicago Cubs hat. |

Other people you may see at Capitol Adventure events are:
Susan Drybread: Susan, a long-distance runner and Todd’s wife, is the creative trust of Capitol Adventure. She provides marketing, reality checks, and good ideas.
Jonathan Walburger: Jonathan eagerly provides backup to Felix and Todd during the events, and generally makes sure that races go smoothly and people stay happy. |
